McKenzie, Lillie, Savannah, Lindsay and Justin present food they had collected to Deanna Phillips director of  the Grayson Community Food bank.

The park at Carter Caves had quite a bit for the kids to do; swimming, horseback riding, miniature golf and playground activities. The children did them all. In addition to  several sessions  roasting marshmellows and a lot of bike riding. A great time was had by all.

Children & Grandchildren Rally July 16 - 19

GETTING READY FOR THE GRANDKIDS:

Okay grandparents, take an extra nap, start taking an extra vitamin a day and eating healthy as you prepare for a fun packed week-end with all those brilliant, beautiful, grandchildren at Carter Cave State Park.  The Wilson’s will be staying in site 20 if all goes as planned; this is near the Bath House so should be convenient for the little (an big) kids.

Bob Gregory has volunteered to plan fun and exciting games for us, the menu is kid friendly, and we hope everyone will take advantage of the pool, miniature golf course, horse back riding and exploring the hiking trails; (or at least one or two of these).  For the big kids, there is a beautiful golf course.  So pack the sunscreen, load up the kids and join us on July 16th for a fun-filled weekend.

Our service event for the Grandkids Rally will be to collect food for the local food bank.  We are asking that each child bring a donation of one of their favorite canned foods, and that each Unit give as you can.  We are all so blessed that it is a privilege to be able to give to those who are in need.  The Bible teaches we are to care for those less fortunate and this is an area of our state that has a very high level of poverty, so give generously.  We will be taking the foods to the Food Bank on Friday, and encourage involvement of the children in this effort.
