This years Christmas Luncheon will be held at the Beaumount Inn centrally located in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on Saturday 06 December.

Since 1919, guests have enjoyed the inn’s ambiance and style of grand Southern tradition. For nearly a century, memorabilia, antiques, and memories have been gathered here. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Beaumont Inn is honored with numerous national hospitality and food awards during the last 90 years.

The spacious, park-like grounds of the Beaumont Inn include four buildings in which the 33 guestrooms are located. Each building is an integral part of the history of the Inn, and each expresses a distinct period of the heritage of the family. Traditional Kentucky cuisine includes their famous yellow-legged fried chicken, two-year-old Kentucky cured country ham, corn pudding and cornmeal batter cake in their main dining room. Fine wines, spirits, draft beer and casual dining are found in their Old Owl Tavern.

This is a very nice and relatively inexpensive park with lots of things to see and do. The rally is scheduled for 17 July to 20 July. Of course, with a little pre planning the child in most of the men may enjoy a visit to the Corvette museum in Bowling Green. We have several members in the West Kentucky area and hope all can attend.bowlinggreenmacromap.jpg

Tommy Phipps will be conducting a computer class for those who would like to brush up on their computer skills.

Thanks to Jane May for the beautiful handmade Santa decorations for each of the women. And of course thanks to outgoing President Charley for organizing the Luncheon. The food and fellowship was great.

Dear Santa,
I would like some walbernize to keep our airstream shining.
The fresh aroma of Dick Lewis’ coffee each morning at our rallys.
An endless supply of propane and dry firewood.
An entire year with no leaks.
Full hookups at a reasonable price.
Safe travel to destination.
Lots of wonderful friends to share our experiences with.

Christmas Luncheon

I hope everyone will be able to attend the Christmas Dinner at Claudia Sanders Dinner House on 08 December in Shelbyville. I still have vivid memories as a young teenager stoping by the original Dinner house on our way back from camping in a farmers field at Guist Creek Lake in the 1960s. When the small dam was build the valley was flooded and the old road, where it went into the lake, provided a great boat ramp and camping spot. Our family had a 16 foot camping trailer which my dad towed with a 1960 ford galexy and we would stop at the Colonels Lady for the buffet because it was such a great deal. I was surprised they would even let us in since our camping trailer did not have a bath/shower and I am sure after a couple of days of fishing we did not have the most desirable scent. When my grandmother passed away in February of 1998 I found it very ironic that this is where my cousins, brother and other family members met to have lunch on our way back from the cementary in Bagdad Kentucky. I have not been to the new facility but I look forward to the scent of fried chicken and the hospitality that I remember as a kid.
